[Mod Request] Player Warhouse

I would like to have a warehouse station where I can store everything & anything I gather or find in the universe.
Own ships should be able to be commanded to drop off items within the station.
And I as well with the skunk should be able to drop off any items I wish thats within the skunk.

I should also be able to place a manager, defence officers, engineers and marines within the station to maintain and defend the station as well.

Something that would have lots of storage, but can also be upgraded.
for example:

Warehouse Station Class 1
Warehouse Station Class 2
Warehouse Station Class 3
Warehouse Station Class 4
Warehouse Station Class 5

By building and attaching parts to the station to get more station storage which will upgrade its class.

Also I would like to be able to build weapons platform to protect the warehouse station from enemies.
And I would like to build the station any where in space,
including very close to npc station if I wanted to.


If Egosoft Devs can do this permanently in the game that would be great,
but in the meantime, if a mod dev would like to create it that would be cool too.

At least a safe box in the skunk to hide illegal inventory trades... :P

I think I saw something like this in the Workshop already. It was called Albion Trade Station or so. When I used that mod it was kinda buggy and some parts were invisible. But hey, maybe the creator fixed that.

This is tradestation not a warehouse.
completely different from what I am asking.

I need a Warehouse where no one else can dock but my fleet and I.
Its where I would stockpile items for later use.

You can stockpile items at your own stations, if they have the appropriate storage class. Just use the "Transfer Wares" command. However, I'm not sure if the station manager will attempt to sell wares he sees as excess or not. Could simply not assign a manager I suppose.

Still, this is an expensive way of storing stuff, I generally use a captured Titurel or something for the same purpose.

I would like to be able to build a simple Warehouse station though. So, no products, just the ability to assign wares by simply offloading them, then maybe being able to instruct a manager to buy / sell wares as required. I.e. sell off any acquired loot, store any good stuff you want to keep and / or actually buy some wares that are cheap.

I'd suggest that this is perfectly possible in theory, though we'd need much finer control of our stations to manage effectively. To be honest, we need finer control period, so the ability to assign a ship to handle a specific wares only for example, or just buy or sell, not both etc.

As things stand now, you have the option to use a ship for storage as I do, or offload ware to an existing station of yours, though your station manager might try to "help" by selling stuff off, not tested it long-term, though the transfer was working when I tried it a while back.

Ah well, my fault. I thought you ment that. You only said your ships and the skunk should be able to drop off stuff. Well with a normal station that is possible.

Also, maybe have a look at the source code of the trade station (if it is available...) or ask the creator for help.

And to Scoob: If someone wants a normal station as a warehouse it should be possible to tell the manager to go up with the prices. That way no trader should buy something there. Maybe that works?

Good idea, though unfortunately this would lead to said station being a prime candidate for any ship you have working for other stations to sell their wares to it. So, if you wanted to make a profit from station X for example, selling to NPC stations, yet the prices at your "Warehouse" station are more attractive, they'll go there if the Manager has a budget. Still, if you leave the manager with zero budget, it should still work to a degree, though then he'd not be able to buy anything at all then of course.

There are certainly ways to juggle things around using fixed pricing etc., but it's a little clunky at best and rather frustrating. Hopefully at some point we'll have the control over our station managers and their ships so something like this is trivial.

I had a thought similar to this; Make all stations have a small ship dock/docks the player can dock at, that has a Hangar (like the one in the cap ship bridge mod).

The Player would have to first buy the real estate from an NPC aboard the station (possibly the manager) before using it.

It can then be set up as a shop, or be used as storage for s/m ships and wares.

This would make a good interim for players who wish to start a small business or have a HQ, but don't yet have the capital to build their own stations, and also create a new market for real-estate.

Icing on the cake would be to see similar shops set up by NPC's for trading various goods.
