Since upgrading to version 3.5 I have had the following problem with the mechanic.
If I ask for engines or shields there is no problem, but if I ask for software, the game just freezes, with no software shown.
I have tried removing different mods, but it has made no difference so far.
Hope someone can help with this.

That is interesting because that was a bug first noticed with a *modded* 3.50 beta and was confirmed fixed in a further beta before the release version! Please verify your Steam gamefile cache to check that you have the correctly updated version.
An alternative possibility is that one or more of your mods was interfering with the fix. This mod is the usual suspect in these cases: cf.Mission.Computer .
Check with the author of your mods (especially if you have that one) that they are 3.50 compatible now and make sure that you have the latest versions.
Can anyone else confirm this issue in vanilla 3.50 release?

I will keep trying.Alan Phipps wrote:That is interesting because that was a bug first noticed with a *modded* 3.50 beta and was confirmed fixed in a further beta before the release version! Ah, so you did have it. I don't think just removing the mod and then loading a save that already has it embedded in it does the trick. I think you might either face a restart or reload to a pre-modded state, or will have to hope and wait for that mod to become 3.50 compatible. (Ouch!)
That is the always the risk with using 3rd party mods in a still-evolving game.
BTW I am no expert on mods and their effects so seek a second opinion from the S&M community before doing anything too drastic.

I have added the "Mission Computer software removal tool", and now everything seems to be working as it shouldAlan Phipps wrote:Ah, so you did have it. I am glad I didn't have to do a restart.
