So I have a ship that's quite damaged and they can't seem to repair it without Construction drones so I went ahead and bough them.
Problem is though that now I have 6 drones in the cargo but my engineer refuses to use them due to them not being in units. I've tried taking the engineer back to my ship then assigning him to the capship again but no luck. Is there a way to make him use the drones?

Use the Transfer Wares order with another capship to equip them as drones

Don't forget that if your damaged ship has no functioning drone bay (if you've destroyed it while boarding, for instance) you won't be able to transfer the drones - you'll just have to wait until the engineer repairs it.. very.. very.. slowly..
Leaving sector can help improve the speed of repairs here, but no guarantee

This particular mechanic took me a while to figure out (I think I ended up pulling out what little hair I have left on my cranium!). I capped two Titurel's back to back in Reiver controlled space, then called in a freighter from Argon space that had a load of Construction/Cargo Hauler/Intrepid MK1 URV's in it's cargo holds. I instructed it to transfer the cargo as drones to the first Titurel via the map and that worked fine, but when I tried to do the same thing with the second Titurel, the only option for transfer that I was given was "as cargo"...I spent about an hour angrily punching keys, reloading saves, retrying the same thing over and over like a crazy person, until I finally figured out that my engineer hadn't rebuilt the drone launcher...Snafu_X3 wrote:Don't forget that if your damaged ship has no functioning drone bay (if you've destroyed it while boarding, for instance) you won't be able to transfer the drones - you'll just have to wait until the engineer repairs it.. very.. very.. slowly..Leaving sector can help improve the speed of repairs here, but no guarantee

About Titurels, where did you find them?
