Frame rate Issues at Legends Home - resolved

Hi Guys,

Came back to this game after a year and a half.
Just built new rig so was hoping it would bump up my frame rates as had issues before.

Basically Iloaded an old sav and when I position my ship to look at the stations at homes end I get 5fps.

Any idea's?

Hi, which game and is it modded?

Your previous 'issues' could well be embedded in that save you reused.

You should start by updating your OS to Service Pack 1 and all other outstanding Microsoft updates as that might improve your DirectX as well.

If this is a Steam game then verify the gamefiles cache (both for TC and AP separately if appropriate).

See how it goes after that.

I have since managed to get my fps which was averaging max 30-40 fps
up to 350fps! :P

All I did was a minor CPU overlock......but an even more interesting one was that I found that x3tc was stuck on a single core....but in windows performance monitor noticed that a number of my CPU cores where parked (halving the performance of each Core).

Shows how to get full CPU performance.....and waala......350+ fps :)

Anyway......GPU is still under utilised but somehow adding more power to the CPU and removing this stoopid microsoft CPU core parking seems to have had a massive impact.

er .. x3tc.exe will always be stuck on a single core (at a time) - it is a single-thread exe.

The benefit of multicore to X3 is that all the other drivers, services, OS and background applications can hopefully be run on different cores to that of the game exe.

Wasn't saying it made X3TC use multiple cores, just more efficiently used the cores on my PC.
I am using RAMDisk to run the game as well so not sure if that has made any difference as well.
