Missing Long Range Scanner Sound effect

My long range scanner does not make the charging sound when pressing the key to activate it.

On release it does make the discharge sound and I hear the pings of crates. I also see the graphic.

I have tried restarting the game, my machine and I have made a clean reinstall of X-Rebirth but I still have no charging sound effect.

Anyone got any ideas?

*edit*

My Engine and Booster sounds are also not playing.

BUT all sounds play when in external camera mode.
