So, the economy is still fubar in Albion. Plating is eaten before it can be bought and other things are just over made gumming up all the ships. And with a lack of drain on the ships...well we all know what is happening.
What I am curious about is...would it be feasible to make a mod that adds an economy analytics module. The thought is to see what is in demand, what is in supply, and may be break it down by what of a ware is in a ship, station, and production.
Why? Well it would be silly to make a solar farm or a food plant...those are always overstocked. But it may not be so silly to build something that has a high demand product with a low supply. That way a player can make money just by soaking up things that are more common.
More then that, this would be an economy building aid. Areas with little or no economy that could be built up could be looked at and each step considered. Do you need another food farm in DeVries? Are you wrunning low after building 10 stations. Are those stations making enough materials? things like that.
The thought is just to see how the economy is breaking down and then use that to patch it in game...or out of game as a mod.

This is one of the reasons for what I am suggesting. Basically a way to see what is happening and to fill holes that are not immediately obvious. Like for Albion, making reinforced plating has been good to me, it is always in short supply and the resources for them are almost always cheep to get.Earth ultimatum IV. wrote:I would like to see more economy holes...
There are very little opportunities of making profit.
Energy Array in Omycron Lyrae and Albion, and H20 Prep Plant in Omycron Lyrae, those are pretty much the only reliable profit-making spots.
There are many holes in the economy...and in some cases not enough sinks also. Like Nividium Cubes...cut crystals...I would love to see a station that takes these things and makes "consumer goods" that can be another secondary or tertiary on all stations.
But first, we need to see what exactly is going on.
