I have fought through a lot of bugs trying to enjoy this game, but here it is; I have mining ships that won't mine, I have factories that will not produce, no matter how many resources I pour into them. They produce everything else except critically needed items, such as Plasma/MA turrets and HitMA turrets. My Crystal plant accepts raw materials well enough but to date, has not produced a single cut crystal or Nividium cube! I had the problem before with my URV plants, but it self-corrected. I also cannot transfer any funds to any of my trade managers. There is simply no option to give them any money, despite the mission manager reminding me constantly! I'm at my wit's end! Can anyone help me out?
Almost a year and the game is still not in release state...
Are you running v2.50? What version was it when you started the game? Have you had this problem since before the current version, or could it be because of save-game compatibility?
I never worry if it is a release state. I like how ego works with the community and over time builds a game that is worth more than the money you spent. I have always had patience with ego, because I like how they build a game, the philosophy is to not make a bunch of games and call it quits, but instead, build one game continuously, with the help of the players but also to put developer spins on the player ideas as well to make it work well. I personally love this sort of sandboxing crafting. I would fear the day when ego stops adding features, improving, and working on their baby. As a matter of fact, it would be terrible if ego were to ever stop. I can deal with bugs, lack of features, and gameplay issues. Because I know that these will be sorted. Even if it takes 5-10 years to make it epic, I will play along. Because I look at this as a quasi-release, but I think they will always keep it in a "work in progress" state due to community involvement and for testing reasons. That's why sandbox games are never really "final release" versions. Why would you ever say a sandbox has "All features and All bugs" finished or even want it to become a finished thing? Once features are added this can introduce more bugs as well. So its never ending. When you stop adding features and fixing things, then you shouldn't really call it a sandbox, and the game cant grow. Never put limits on building a really cool game -just give it a lot of time to develop and hop in when you think you're ready.
I got my mining ships to operate, but I have to control them manually, meaning I took them from their assigned stations and individually gave them their mining missions. Unfortunately, I have a new bug. I have a Fedhelm filled to the brim with Nividium, but I can't deliver it to the Crystal Fab Station because the Trade Window is telling me; "This ship cannot transport this ware" Now, my drone factories have ceased production, and I still have no Hit/MA or Plasma/MA Turrets! At this point, I'm ready to start banging my head against the wall, because nothing else is working!! I like this game, but the bugs are making me crazy!!
If you think it's a bug, please attach the save game so the Egosoft guys can take a look at it. I also strongly recommend you to use 2.50, because it fixed a ton of issues related to production of wares.

The Hit/MA and plasma/MA turrets running out after a certain period of time is a known bug. It's been happening for quite a while now. IIRC, you can only play the game around 40 (?) hours or so before the economy grinds to a halt because of this bug.
For the other issues though, I agree with the poster above. A v2.50 game will give you slightly fewer headaches. They managed to fix quite a few bugs. I would also say file an actual bug report, but most economy related bug reports are still being ignored at this point. Might as well, though.
spankahontis wrote:I recommend you join the Beta Testing team and help Ego identify these problems.
The sooner they're identified, the faster this Game is completed.
That issue has been in the game since the early versions, and it's been reported many times, as well as the other two crossdiscovery mentioned. If you take a look at the bug reports forum, there's tons of economy related bugs that were/are ignored. If you go in a few pages you can see where people slowly stopped trying.
And I know it's been said before, a million times, but it's really not anybody's obligation to beta test this game after they paid $50 for the finished game (at v2.50 no less).
Looks like I have to build a station that produces those things.
Which station is it exactly?
Also, if you want to give your manager money, you have to:
1) open station details
2) open the staff tab
3) highlight the manager
4) click at the "details" option on the bottom right corner of the screen
5) highlight "manager budget"
6) press the "change" button on the bottom of the screen
Thank you. It appears it was my own ignorance rather than another bug. I transferred funds to all my Trade Managers. The 40 bug is still there, so I am still forced to suspend play until a fix is available, but your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you again.
P.S. It is a really good game. I hope t can be fixed.
And yet once again the manager wallets cause problems...
They always did, ever since X:BtF. Why cant they just remove them?
Or even better, add an option to make managers automatically take money from player account everytime they are making a trade?

Well, at least the player could be properly informed about the lack of funding through both the log book as well as an incoming call from the manager. There are several examples of where the game does not give enough information to the player.
Another, obvious one, is player owned ships getting attacked. It's amazing that there are no alarm, signal or message altering the player.

There is, sort of... when a manager messages you they are short of funds, you get an option to manually transfer them money, or auto-transfer.

Not sure what you are referring to here, but managers being short of funds does show up in my logbook.
Also, when a log message comes in there is a beep, but it sometimes gets lost in the sound effects.
The audio messages for the ships has been tried before, but is not good when you have -lots- of ships. They had to turn it off in earlier games. But it might be good to have it in the beginning game, when you only have a few ships.

There is a mod for ship under attack warning but it's not from the workshop, I was using it so it's not hard to find just do a little searching, it's very handy at the start of the game when your all your ships are valuable
