Question to the X masters out there...CJ this could be you!!

Post by Draklith »

Just wanted to ask everyone, has anyone experienced the products in their games not being manufactured?

Been flying, building, shooting, manufacturing for sometime now 149+ hours..

And yet, still no crystals, no weapons, no missles, no shields that I can find anywhere to purchase, along with a slew of other items that I require.

Have I not played long enough?

Is their something wrong with the patches I installed
(no cheat patches that I am aware of...)???

What's going on in MY X'verse???!!!?!?!?!

Thats quite odd - i've played a single game for over 500 hours and never had any major shortages of products (except those caused by tactical sabotage).

What you do, is you mkae your own sulpy ring.

For example (I'm using Tealdi):

You make one or two power plants (Yes I do know they are not profitable) you stock them up wiht crystals and jack the price all the way down. Then you go make a Flower Farm and Dream Farm and any other station that requires only Power Cells. You also jack them down to lowest price. Then you mkae things like Nosdrop Oil Refinerys, and Tealdidium Foundrys. Also Jack their produtcs to the lowest price. And so on so on (Oh, yeah you do this all within one or two secotrs)

So you now have a fully operational factory chain at your disposal, and since you are the only one in the universe who has these item you will make tons of profit!

Yeah got the OLD Ore mine kick'in inside trinity sanctum, the ONLY ore mine...

then built me energy plant for the cells that it would require, then found out that there is no where in the X'verse to purchase crystals for the manufacturing of the energy cells

Go blow up other Power Plants and take the crystals they drop. Then put them al into your Power Plant and make a crystal Fab for your self ..... If that work

15 Hornet's usually do the job.
However if you have a TL, then just nudge asteroids into the rival factories

You're not running 1.1, are you? There was definitely a bug in that version which meant 25MW shields would never get produced, but I don't think it extended to any other produce.

I live Down Under, my time zone is different to yours, now at time of posting this reply I have 9.30 AM in Alice Springs.

You seem to have a buggy install of X. Back up your saves and do a new fresh install of X and with the patches and see if it makes any difference with your save games. I have most factories producing and selling, NPC and my own, only with Gamma HEPT forges and with 120 MW shields it can take a long time till you see any products.

Do you mean you have lost some of your own ships and can not find them in your property menue. If they were attacked and destroyed somewhere or hit a dock or gate by mistake, your pilot log should tell you.

Or are they "ghost" ships and you can see them but they are not moving or responding to commands? There is/was such a bug and this can happen.

I hope you find your answers there or a fresh install with a fresh start is the only way to get things right if something in the game is corrupted to produce what you experience.

Cheers

Hey, hey the man himself!! Thanks for responding CJ, I'm afraid I may have been a little confusing when ranting...what I meant was some of the ships that I have captured require shields, weaponry...and these products are to be found nowhere in the game...?

And I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to do the clean swipe, I shouldn't have any problems when re-installing my saved game, huh?

See I was thinking... whether or not the problem could be transfered back into the new game install via the re-install of the OLD saved game???

Thereby just recreating the prob???

What do you mean by "upgrades"? If it's shields, everyone sells 1MWs ('cept the Paranid I think... got this from Argonopaedia though), the 5MWs are sold by the Teladi and the Paranid, the Split sell 25MWs, and the Boron sell 125MWs (though I doubt it would work well)

Wargod - About your SPP plan... it's no good. They only waste money that way. It's better to stick the fabs in an EC-heavy Sector (Queen's Space, The Wall to name two).

My two cents are free.

Yeah, I am a little confused too to find out exactly what you mean. if you look into any factory which produces your upgrade, you mean this factory stopped making the product with zero stock? There are often several factories with the same product with different races, look at all of them to see if....

If a captured ship has no shields and it can carry, lets say 2x5MW shields, any EQ which sells them or any shields fab that makes them and has them in stock can be used to reinstall these shields (or lasers as the case might be). If you can not do that, then you might have a corrupted game on your PC.

You can always try either an original upgraded Exe (I think it is a v2.1) or one of my super Exes I have on the d/load page of my web site with your save games, as long as you DO NOT save with the Super Exe, it will not change things in it (or make a back up of the save game you use for this). As the Exe governs what specs the game should have and does in the game (equipment of ships, stations details, production cycles, wares and so on). If this will work with your save as it should, your original Exe was corrupted.

Having said that, sometimes corrupt data in a save game will alter a game too, in which case a new install and a fresh start is required. Unless you still have an earlier save game where things work as they should.

I hope I made some sense

It's not that they wont install, it's that there are 0 production rates for all of these items: 1-5-25MW shields at every shield factory in the game.

The same goes for Nav Sats, can't be bought anywhere because every factory has 0 in stock.

Lasers, PACs, HEPTs, Laser towers, quantum tubes, crystals, and a few other things all 0 in stock...I have been playing for quite awhile 149+ hours

Shouldn't these items be available by now, for purchase from factories?
