X3TC Save game location

Post by TycHouse »

Just a very quick question.
Night before last i decided to pick up my TC which has been installed on my system since c2009 and was surprised not to find an old save game.
No worries, i started a new game as Bankrupt Assassin and made a little progress, autosave in stations was ON yet before going to bed i did a manual save when docked.

Last night i loaded up TC and my saves were nowhere to be found ! However there as an old save dated 2009 (obviously from my previous play as Terran Defender).
I looked everywhere even doing a computer-wide search and could not find ANY save-games from 2014 (not even my X3R saves !).

Now i store my My-Documents folder on a remote data drive (for ease of backup), i searched this and found my 2009 save but still no 2014 saves !?

If i assume that for some reason that data drive was idle or disconnected, where would X3TC store the saves ? Ie is there another 'default' save location ?

Thanks

I've no idea about the specifics of the drive issue but here is the text from the FAQ:
Carlo the Curious wrote:Saved games are named Xnn.sav (e.g. X01.sav) and they are located in the folder Egosoft\X3TC\save (or Egosoft\X3AP\save for X3AP) under My Documents (or under Documents, if you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7).

Further to the above, if you are using the Steam version of TC now then there may/should be cross-transfer of cloud saves back in to replace missing saves if you have enabled them to synchronise.
