windows\system32\xapofx1_5.dll

Post by LiquitHQ »

hey,

I seem to have a DirectX problem

Xapofx1_5.dll issues are caused in one way or another by an issue with Microsoft DirectX. This error is saying that my XRebirth.exe is an invalid installation copy, this is weird because i installed it trough Steam after a valid activation code was inserted and i downloaded the game trough steam, I have a boxed version of the game and got it today.

I have been looking after the Xapofx1_5.dll which is located in my window\system32 folder, i see it there together with 4 other similar files

Xapofx1_0.dll
Xapofx1_2.dll
Xapofx1_3.dll
Xapofx1_4.dll
Xapofx1_5.dll

this error is also saying that this file is not suitable for windows, i recently also got 2 other errors with my directX one with Arma 3 which is similar to this error and one with watch dogs, this one is however different but also refers to a directX error ......

I am running on windows 7 64 bit all drivers are up to date windows is up to date so i am really clueless how to solve this one.

I am also running other games these game doesn't seem to be affected by this problem ...

Star trek online runs fine
World of Warcraft runs fine
TES V Skyrim runs fine
Stalker Series are running fine

I would appriciate any help to solve the issues, i tried to re-install directX however it is Windows 7 integrated so i get the message i got the newest version already, i am really stuck on this one :(

Best of regards

With regard to your XR error, run a validation on the game installation using the Steam client.

Your other errors sound like corrupt DirectX files, but I'd wait and see whether fixing the game installation makes them go away before you try other means to solve them.

I tried this both for amra3 and XR and i even did a validation on the ubi launcher for watch dogs, it all says that everything is ok, i even uninstalled those 3 games re-installed those games and they kept flipping on my directX, it only had some problems with a few files.

Now I think there are two options

or i got a corrupt DirectX update trough one of these games which corrupted some of my directx .dll's or my rig starts to get spooky on me because I really, really dint change a thing except installing those 3 games....

Because of the above reason and unable to spot the issue i decided to re-install my entire windows, if my directX was corrupted due to a wrong update or whatever then it would've been impossible to uninstall the corrupt files anyway. Also the problem is that when you try to install directX again it seems to say that the entire thing is updated and working correctly. Anyway i have a clean install now, i am updating my windows again, when this is fully don i will run a backup order on my entire installation, then install every game again, test them one by one prior to any other game installation and if they work update my backup again and continue from there ...

Thanks for the advice ;-)

Curious. Found a similar issue that affected owners of borderlands 2.

I would suspect the fix they found there to work for you:

XR has a dx redist folder: \Steam\SteamApps\common\X Rebirth\_CommonRedist\DirectX
