When X - Rebirth was released, I nearly had no performance problems, but with every update I got worse problems. Now the game is not playable anymore. I tried nearly every setting and the tips in the sticky performance thread, but nothing worked.

We're going to need more information than that to have any chance whatsoever of helping you. A [url=http://www.egosoft.com/support/faq/faq_answer_en.php?answer=610&version=8][b]DX[/b][b]D[/b]iag[/url] report and a savegame uploaded to, say, Dropbox, would be the bare minimum.
The game itself has had numerous performance improvements since release, but it's possible that something on your system, something in your savegame, some mod you are using, or even just the settings you are using, means that you are not seeing the benefit.
