I started a new merchant start from version 2.0 a couple of days ago, and while I was flying around getting info from stations, I noticed that there are a couple of hubs that sell/buy goods from some stations couldn't be selected. Then since I had trade command software, I thought I would check to see if I could still buy from that hub, but the goods for that hub wouldn't show up in my trade menu either even though I could buy/sell other goods from that station.
Then one of them was a hub that sells energy cells, and I thought if it was a broken hub that could be very bad for the economy of the game. I have still been having a lot of random crashes as well.
Ah, thanks. That's just the kind of info I was looking for. It has become increasingly hard to know if the game is just broken or if I have been just doing something wrong. I guess that would explain how your able to be able to que up trade routes and not have it jacked by another trader first all the time like in X3.
Do you know if your trade menu gets updated from you being out of sector after the npc trade deal is complete? Or, do you have to remain there and wait after the npc is finished in order to be able to get that update to your trade menu? I just ask, because the resources I was looking for I was needing from it being in high demand.
Here is how you can get trade offers, the first two methods are temporal and will last only for a certain amount of time, I think is around an hour or so, the last method offers permanent trade updates.
Getting Trade offers:
Flying around the stations scanning the trade points will unlock trade offers, with time those trade offers will disappear. Buying a Trade computer, will collect the trade offers just by flying close to the station. Docking in a station (Free Commercial Port docking point recommended) and using the smalltalk minigame and winning it, will give you the option to choose a Trade Agent that will automatically update the trades for that station for ever (you can find out you have a trade agent by the "eye" symbol next to the station).
