2.0 random crashing (of course far from any autosaves)

i tend to have my game crash when in space doing long range scanning and of course it dosnt autosave unless you dock..lovely. its already cost me millions in lost salvage.
i am also crashing when in stations talking to people.

this is a new one...now my game crashes everytime i try to load any save game. it gets to about 65% and theres no message...the game just ****** closes.

so i went back and found a save file about 30 minutes older than all the ones that were crashing. i loaded it up and re-did the attack on the labs for the 4th ****** time and made it back on the ship and we jumped back to safety. now i left the ship and went into devries where i was supposed to defend the jump gate from a ****** taranis and a heavy sul. naturally i died and now that im trying to load one of the 3 saves i generated from this play they all ****** crash WTF IS GOING ON WITH THIS GAME?

Some of those error messages come from the AMD Overdrive software that comes with your graphics drivers, and suggest a problem with either the drivers themselves or the card. There is also a game crash in there, but that could well have the same root cause, external to the game.

the game still continues to crash tho but only on files that are linked to the attack at the labs. for instance every save file i have that is after i jump into the sector the labs are will crash. when i dig down deep enough and load up a game before that it is just fine and i continue to play without issues. the issue is when i try to load the game i was just playing and it then crashes.

Uploading a save file to somewhere like Dropbox would at least allow someone to confirm whether the same thing happens on their PC.

Played through the save and had no problems, destroyed the taranis and the sul went on and destroyed the stuff in the next sector.

p.s. you did not have enough missiles and v crushers seem to pass right through the taranis and explode on the other side... wierd.

Had a read of your tech problem posted in the tech forums. Are you satisfied it isn't your hardware? Did you have any mods running? Someone played your savegame just fine.

The save didn't crash for me either, which suggests the problem might be specific to your system. Please run a Steam file verification for the game, and post your updated [url=http://www.egosoft.com/support/faq/faq_answer_en.php?answer=610&version=8][b]DX[/b][b]D[/b]iag[/url] report.

DrwHem, what makes you think someone else's savegame will help you? At least two others in the Tech Support forum have played your saves with no problems. Why not ask one of them to repost your savegame after they've successfully completed that part of the plot? However, I doubt that's a the solution to your problem, since chances are the same issue will appear again until you've solved the underlying hardware issue. In short, it's not the game, it's your system that has the problem.

Now, because this is essentially just a follow-on to your thread in Tech Support, I'm going to merge this thread with that one so we don't have duplicate discussions going on in two different forums.

If I may, I propose :

1 - Uninstall AMD/ATI graphic drivers
REBOOT
2 - Reinstall latest drivers for your graphic card
REBOOT
3 - Reinstall DirectX
REBOOT
4 - Do a CCleaner or software you want to clean all registery entries for old installations
REBOOT
5 - Use the Steam check for corrupted files possibly in the game folder

Then try again.

If you re still experiencing troubles at same place, I suggest you to set lower details settings fir the game to assure your graphic card isn't in cause. Monitor it if you can with atiny software like GPU meter and Coretemp or some like to check usage and temps during play...
