X3AP stuttering flying around stations - Fixed by capping fps at 60.

Hi there been playing x for years now and just lately reinstalled x3:ap on my new computer. Its fairly high end so was hoping to run x3 at high settings. However i seem to get some stutter when flying around stations. Just little freeze frames at random times while fly about, nomally then doing loops or spinning. Its kinda annoying and i really would like the game to run smoothly, so i'm hoping someone here can help me, i'll post the diect x stuff below and maybe someone can spot some problem i may have with my system.

I cannot see much wrong in the DxDiag. You could verify X3AP and X3TC gamefile caches separately if you have not done so yet.

I see you have a USB webcam fitted and it might be worth trying again with that unplugged. Also you have Cyberlink codecs which cause some people to see issues with X3 games - but if you were playing X3TC OK with them you *should* be OK with X3AP.

Ok , so I verified both game files and uninstalled the cyberlink codecs then rebooted. No effect, still stutter around the darn stations. I think I'm going to run some program to see if anything pops out with the vram , ram , gpu and cpu. Maybe one of them is causing a bottle neck or something /shug , any hows i'll let you know.

One thing to consider: although the effect is when viewing stations, you could be already losing a lot of cpu power or fps elsewhere in the game and the station display just finally overloads the system.

See if you have any sector somewhere with hordes of NPC ships either waiting to dock and trade at one specific station, or in big RRF fleets constantly shooting up a ship or station that is invulnerable and just will not die (this happens now and again in vanilla).

One last guess, try turning V Sync on or off in-game.

Hi , only a couple of hours into the game so not explored many systems yet. I guess there could be a problem with hordes of ships some where. I'll try a new game and see if this changes things ....... Also tried a fresh install of both x3:ap and x3:tc on a different disk drive. That didn't help. Tried running the game in different compatablity modes ...... as when I run x3:ap windows drops the desktop into basic mode, no joy. Tried Vsync on and off also with triple buffing , no joy. Hummm, running out of ideas

Hi , so first I want to thank you Alan for you help up to this point. This one has been very erm ....

Anyhow I fixed my problem in the end. It must have been some kinda refresh rate / frame rate problem . So here is what I did , got he idea from a battlefield 4 fix strangly. I installed a program called EVGA Precision within this program is a sub program called Rivatuner staticserver. No this little baby has a frame rate limiter within it. So I set it to 60 fps ........ and Blam! fixed , can now play at max settings smooth as silk. Well that's all folks , thanks for having me.
