Modding stations layouts and npc

Hi,
Is there someone who studied how stations and fps npc distribution are set ? I don't really understand, it seems to be very complicated, or random... Is there some mods to study, or any dev clues ?

I ditto this !
I tryed to make docking platforms on ships the same as stations and I just could not make it work.

plus having the max of npcs in stations would help immersion a lot.

i can only give a few hints:

NPCs on Stations are all created via MD on iirc Sector Change, and can be placed more detailed via tags. there is an example for iitc karen stringer in the Plot MD code where she always occupies the same Spot
if not stated otherwise everything i post is licensed under WTFPL

Ich mache keine S&M-Auftragsarbeiten, aber wenn es fragen gibt wie man etwas umsetzen kann helfe ich gerne weiter ;)

I wont do Script&Mod Request work, but if there are questions how to do something i will GLaDly help ;)
