Idea for station usfullness.

well I been thinking of ways to make stations usefull.
to me it seems like egosoft realy wanted to walk around these stations but could not really think of anyway to do it with a purpose.
or rather the purpose the station have , well I do not like.

would it be possible to make it so that most npc on station propose missions?
that only one set of the traders apear on station , yes one per type (to immulate real trade rather than buy and sell to neighbor.

add more life by adding non trader who just stand there to give a feel of life?

and my last idea , what if we could use items like I dont know beds to speed up time (ok thats more of a RP thing)

I like the idea to get missions in the station, like in the bar. Something like freelancer. But we must have much more different kind missions in XR.
Also you could do something more with the black marker trader.

yeah , there seem to be prototype or unfinished missions available , like races and kill station missions.

I found one way to make stations a bit more usefull was to increase the ammount of drops that astroids have , thus emulating single ship mining.

in fact making station a mission hub would be good becose to me getting missions in space , feels a bit wierd

I think that was an initial idea. It's just not implemented. But TBH, stations are just ridiculously empty (especially your own station). They are they space CITIES after all - with thousands of people working and living on some stations as per the Encyclopedia.

There should be a fair amount of "fake" people on stations, much like a fake mass-traffic. Not those couple of guys mindlessly walking from a one gaming machine to an another, but a whole bunch of people walking, chatting, running around in case of an emergency or alert. All this fancy things outside of a station - trains, elevators and such stuff should be represented inside stations too. Player may still be restricted from using such things (to make things iterative), but at least if all platforms are to be designed with proper outside view, people arriving and departing on trains and elevators - stations won't feel as dull and empty as they are now. It will feel like a complete interconnected station for a change, not some strange dungeon you've been suddenly teleported into. .. even if there will be not much more usefulness as it is now in here.

I think that was a plan, but as Bernd said they've started developing full-scale FPS mode only a year ago, so it's just haven't completed yet (as a whole game). I really-really hope that they won't abandon the whole stations thing and instead move into right direction of making them more live and fun.

EGOSOFT on a fps? oh I hope not I want more X and nothing more , X , X X , and more X! :lol:
I remeber him saying over and over that there not making an fps....
just have to wait and see , I would not mind a fps DLC for X , witch improves 100s times the interiors

My vision of stations (and maybe also planetary docking rings) requires a 3rd person view (Observe demonstrated already that his is a viable option), a body for Ren, more nicer and different male & female bodies and then we can start ..... with a real bar? :D ... a casino where we may find Suzie ?

Ah yeah, I'd forgotten the Freelancer docking rings. Would be nice to see them back - I preferred the 'trade lanes' to highways too :)
