I hope you don't mind but I moved my post here for two reasons.
#1 It slides down the pages on X-Universe Forum too quickly, to be read and commented on by the people that need to read it.
#2 I figured that if there was anyone who could fix this, then it would be modder/scripter, who would understand the situation and have enough knowledge to be able to come up with a solution.
So without further ado:
Is there a Space Traffic Control? I don't think there is!
I had captured an Orinoco at 86% hull, with weapons and some cargo intact, just no shields.
I ordered it to dock at a local station while I took on the remaining 2 Orinoco's. Unfrotunately I did not capture the other 2 ships. However I ordered my ship to dock on autopilot at the same station as my captured Orinoco, everything was fine until it came to docking. My captured ship was in the process of docking, when my own ship, on autopilot, tried to dock ahead of it, ramming into my sheildless ship and destroying it.
Now if I had been manually docking my own ship, then I would have no-one to blame but myself for poor piloting skills, but this was on autopilot. Where is the Space Traffic Control. If a ship is in the process of docking, then another ship should have to wait for the dock to clear. Not barge in at the same time causing a collision. And in this case destroying one of my own ships.
Can we please have some docking control, no station should rely on pilots to be courteous and standby for the ship ahead to dock. This should be an enforced procedure when docking on autopilot. I believe it was this way in X-Tension. So why not in X2?!

When I fly my TL, I constantly blow TS's to dust when I smash into them. This happens while on Autopilot. I don't know what logic the autopiloting uses, but you can tell from the way the AI fights, that collisions are not a consideration in the flying AI.
I have watched my notoriety drop by 20% while moving to dock at a shipyard. It is always funny. Fortunetely I have enough factories in every space to gain 20% in a sitting really easily.
As for the modding tip. I don't think there is anyting we can do about that. That part doesn't seem to be part of the scripting API. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.
There are only two things in life that matter, and I have them both. They're not what you might think, and once you learn that you'll be much happier.

Actually, the total Mass of the TL, and the speed you are traveling, makes you impossible to avoid.. so going 150+m/s means you plough down everything in you're way, traveling at 100-M/S means you couldnt hurt a fly.OnlineKenji wrote:![]()

the docking precedures wouldnt work with different speeds, i noticed that in freelancer, ALL maximum ship speeds where like 90 or something, sometimes 89, this allowed ordered docking things... in my time of playing i have had some crashes when docking, especially that theres only one docking tunnel, on a station thats meant to house alot of people? especially alot of ships, wheres the realism in that

that might reduce the traffic and risk of collision, but i must say that it is very rare, and the first time i had it was in 1.1, once more in 1.2, but that was it, so basicly up untill now, no crashes due to autopilot's stupidity.

There is a maximum docking speed, 100 until you get really close, then 36 and slowly lower. On the other hand, my idea doesn't even include docking speed. I still think it's possible just haven't tried yet.

I have the same problem with my TL only i told it to block the enterance (meaning i moved it there) of a rival SPP and it was far enough away that you could avoid it to launch but not land...However the AI is bombarding it with Disco's Nova's and Merc's. that and the Argon One ran into the damn thing and blew it up. So now i have a empire with no builder and need to wait the 3 hours to get a new one.
Can we please improve the AI so it's not as.....Rammy
