OK so I finally got a mod installed, but now saves corrupt

OK so I finally got a mod installed, but now saves corrupt

After much fiddling around i managed to successfully exchange the bullets file and move the Data files to a backup folder.

the Mod now works (faster lasers) but none of my old save games work. Game says they are corrupt then sends me to the desktop.

If I start a NEW game everything is fine.


Is there any way to recover the old saves?
