Was trading successfully with the CR I had to make actual Rahanas to continue.
Set 3 orders to buy resources at 3 different stations in Albion. Enough money and cargo hold to handle it all. Of course, the stations in question had the resources available (through Trade menu).
The CR moved to the station's area for the first Buy order and just sat there. Captain's order listed is Trade with the station nearby.
There are available ports at the station that has the resource.
I tried Join/Unjoin, dock and undocking with the CR, leaving sector, coming back, giving it lots of time in between changes, and its still sitting there.
Had this happening before and the only way I could fix the issue was to Clear All trades, edit Savegame to give me back the lost money, then do the trades again. That time I did them one at a time in case the 3 orders at the same time created the hiccup somehow.
Aside from this, Trading worked out pretty well for me so far, and made sense (i.e. if it stopped, there was a good reason for it in the game like the port not being available for a bit, etc...)
Any workaround or fix coming for this kind of thing?

Also, making 3 trips at a time can sometimes confuse the freighter and it will stop functioning.
Also, are you getting a problem with ships passing through the Jump Gate at Devries/Albion?
Enters one Sector then returns to the other and vice versa in a continuous loop?
Cause that bug tends to be a problem for my trading between sectors.

I'm seeing strange behavior at times with regards to this, other than what is explained here.
I just restarted a game on 1.21 to get a clean slate and soon bought a Rahanas to trade. First trade, 2 runs (buy and then sell) and my Rahanas is docking and undocking, then doing a lap, in a continuous loop.
Rode with it to see exactly what it was doing, and there is no lineup at the port it wants to use at the station at all.
Went out of the sector to get a different behavior, as you know, being close and far we can see different results, and still no joy.
This may be a different bug than what initiated this thread since its a new game, but similar gameplay result with a trader ship not doing its job.
P.S.; the Rahanas has cargolifters of course.

Do one trip at a time, not 2.Lehmund wrote:I'm seeing strange behavior at times with regards to this, other than what is explained here.

See if that helps, if not remove from squad then add squad, might break the loop.

For now, I'Ll wait for the next trading fix announced.
Just had to Clear All trades again for my Container vessel.
If it was set to be in my Squad it would try a trade, and if unsuccessful (no idea why in some cases), it starts following the Skunk instead of trying to complete the trade.
If I remove from the Squad, it tries to trade for a while, then just sits and does nothing.
I suspect in some cases, there is a reason why the trade doesn't work. Would be nice to have feedback to know why the Captain can't complete a trade, and to keep trying until successful or I say otherwise.
Also, the Squad add is fine to me, but it really should be a separate order to have any cap ship following the Skunk. Would make things way easier and avoid unecessary fuel to be spent.
