mouse not working

I just installed rebirth and started campaign and my mouse barely works ... I rarely see the pointer and scenes sometimes move when I move the mouse but mostly don't. I have 4 monitors on a Nvidia GT620 and 2 trackballs and 1 mouse on a 64bit Win 7 AMD 4GHz 8 processor system.

You're the first guy I'm aware of with mouse problems. There are issues with joysticks and some other gamepads, but never a mouse.

Out of curiosity... the four monitors I understand. But two trackballs and a mouse? How many hands do you have?

standard two hands.
I use both hands with trackballs.
trackballs don't have scroll wheel, so that's what the mouse is for ... occasional scroll wheel use with games.

My game crashes to desktop when i use the mouse on stations. it can be used for about a minute, then it freezes, and if you click the mouse button it goes straight to desktop, game is still going, click on game to go back, wait a minute (black screen), then it comes back and sometimes the mouse works, sometimes not. if it doesn't, it crashes back to desktop.

BUT, it works fine flying in space....

I am having the same problems with the mouse and I am only using one monitor and mouse. my graphics card is a NVidia GTX 780M and using a Logitech performance mouse. I reloaded my mouse software with out any success and even tried using a different mouse with same results. Kind of like the game but its un playable when you cant double click on anything
