have tried on both 1.19 and 1.20. every time i let go of the left trigger, the ships starts reversing. anyone have any ideas on how to sort this?
edit : to be clear, i dont mean it slows to a stop, i mean the little bar that shows forward/back goes to full reverse, and doesnt stop when the ship stops, it keeps going. and the ship reverses. tapping the reverse button stops it, but its a real pain having to remember to do that everytime.
using a 360 controller with a wireless receiver.

Sounds like your controller has something set to tell the game to reverse or isn't calibrated correctly.
I would recommend just resetting any controller settings and recalibrate:

Put everything to defaults and start over. This goes for any controller programs you may have with your 360 controller.

well 2 things come to mind.
1. i've done that.
2. it was a desperation move on my part, as i cant see how it could possibly help.
why would letting go of an analogue axis (left trigger) make the game act as if a separate, digital, button (left shoulder), had been pressed and held?
for the record, this was the first time i had ever calibrated the controller, and i've been using it for years, on several operating systems, and many many games, and there has never been a single issue. and there wasnt previously with this game.
so i'm fairly certain the controller is not at fault here.
Sorry if i'm sounding a bit aggressive, but with enormous list of problems with this game, this one little thing i think has put me right over the edge.

well a reinstall didnt fix it, but second one did. weird.
now if only the other 999 problems with the game would be fixed all would be good lol
one thing i havent had any issues with is performance. all settings maxed and performance is fine. from what i'm reading on here, i could be having it a lot worse than i am!
