[1.19 Crash] 50 seconds then crash...help please.
At the bottom of this are links to a zipped copy of the save, the dmp, and mdmp files.
Last night at 1:10 am pacific, Rebirth unceremoniously crashed on me in a oh so rude fashion. After this point, the game will not work for longer then 50 seconds...I timed it, after the save is loaded. At around 49-50 seconds, the game will crash generating the usual reports.
Before that point I was working in Asupicius Excavation to build a Construction Yard. I had halted the main plot progression at the point of getting an Assassin URV and have apx 11 hours of play time so far. Mostly capturing and selling ships from hard "Cartel Boss is Vulnerable" missions.
I do run some mods, but they do not effect anything fundamental. I removed the mods and their dependencies in the save to see if they caused the issue, no changes. So I hope that my save can be saved because this is frustrating.
Note, the save was edited to restore the engines and other surface elements of the Energy Freighter. I tried a save before this edit, one five minutes earlier and the game still crashed 50 seconds later. As for what I was doing, the ship in question was idle at a port. I captured it to clear it from the queue. As you may see there are another 16-20 ships stacked under the station, some are waiting for access to my construction ship...others are not.

Its definately something in the save, I downloaded yours and tried it and i got a crash, not sure i was even 40 seconds on from the save point. I bounced off the side of the station the ship you were following was trying to dock to, boosted up to the top of the station, and as i looked back down at the ship you were following the game crashed.
Have you tried using the X-Rebirth Save game editor to try deleting that ship and see if that makes any difference? or potentially deleting each individual ship you have captured in case its one of those causing the issue?

I know it is not the energy Freighter, I have a save from 5 minutes before I even ordered the board command and that crashes 40-50 seconds after also. I could start removing Rahanas's or the Balor I captured...but I am not sure why those would be fine for a good hour of play only to cause this effect.
I was kind of thinking may be I unleashed something with the capture...like all those ships below trying to trade at once...but that does not seem probable as a culprit.
Hurm...Time to start deleting ships and see what happens.
Hurm....I deleted the Balor and the Rahanas (Energy) no change...still crashes. I also removed a trade queue for V Crusher Launchers for the station...nope. there is something deeply wrong at the moment.

Interesting...it is something in the sector, something tied to the Energy Freighter and the station specifically. I went back to a save about an hour earlier and played the game. 50 seconds passed and all was good. So...looking at that freighter again...I blew it up...the station helped a lot. Friendly fire is never friendly.
Any way boosting away from the now dying ship, as it exploded, the game crashed. It is looking more and more like a Trade Queue issue. Since may be that ship is a cork in the queue, and 20 ships are the pressure. Killing that one ship floods the system with trade requests and WHAM...dead game.
If needed, I can offer up the earlier save.

ok If you think you have figured out which ship it is, then that save game editor will also allow you to delete trade queues on your own owned ships, that might be the next step worth trying. obviously remember you need to save the save again after doing so, then reload the save. however dont forget to either make a duplicate of the save, or save it in another slot in case you break something so that it will no longer load

The thing is...it is not my ships. Remember my saying there are 16-20 freighters in a stack under the station? Many are weapons freighters and they drop off goods at that station. It is my theory that that single energy trader is blocking the Queue for all those ships. And when that ship is killed...or leaves the area...wham.
So really...I think the only way to solve the issue is to wipe the global trade queue. Any thoughts on how to pull off that one?

not sure how to do that, but is there a way to trigger the ship thats in the docking process to stall, take its trade queu up to 3, basically delay that crash to give you a chance to get out of zone and see if that helps?
The crash appears to happen before it actually starts trading. IF thats not the case then maybe 'stealing' its cargo lifters with the save editor might give a temporary respite.

Well it appears to be one of the bugged freighters that still survived 1.19. So if I leave it alone...the game runs. But if I leave it alone...my station does not get built...kind of a dilemma there.
I kind of wish each ship and freighter had a unique designation in the name, like Energy Freighter (EC-1522) that way I could find each freighter and wipe them. Heh...

you do have other options, savegame editing to fill the constructor ship with whats needed to make the station, using the savegame editior to fill another ship with whats required to make the station, and removing a large number of credits from your wallet balance to make up for doing that - three times the normal cost is a good ratio if your not averse to 'working' around issues by whatever means necessary

I've just had a serious crash in Auspicious Excavation too. I saved before an attempt at capturing a ship, then reloaded after. After loading I "fell" through the floor of the skunk and am stuck inside it, attempting to reload causes the game to crash completely. Had to go back to an earlier save and lose about an hours play.

Hurm one more clue...I found my oldest save while in the area, An hour and 40 minutes from when I made Save 10. I killed the ship...no crash. But an odd thing happened...I got trade discount with a time value of -638 minutes.
Doing the math, that discount has been held in the game since the point when I started playing. At the time of the save 10 hours about. Interesting...
