Hull Engineer V 0.60. Broken in 1.19?

Docking with cap'd ships. Assigned Engineer to cap'd ship that is always bugged with the "Orders: None" bug.

My on-board Engineer is not repairing Engines or Weapons. I'll try docking before assigning a (bugged) Engineer and report back in this thread.

EDIT: Nope. Docking without assigning an Engineer first makes no difference. If it helps, I have a Capt. and Defense Officer on board and the ship is added to my squad. Weapons remain at 60/63, w/ 26/29 HIT/MA turrets operational. Engines remain at ~10%, Hull at 64%. After this attempt, assigned Engineers get stuck at "Orders: None"...still.

Try uninstalling disabling the engineer script, as its possible its now conflicting with the official egosoft update. Not a guarantee , but worth trying.

the devs re-wrote the repair script with 1.19 patch so the old hull engineer is making changes to things that likely do not exist anymore.

I tried it vanilla first, no extensions at all in the restarted campaign game. Also, if I do manage to get a damaged ship back to DHA, the shipyard won't repair it. I've got one at 86% and one at 51%. The shipyard is available. When I choose the ship to repair, the guy says "We have everything we need. Shall we get started? There's no going back...blah blah". And the list that pops up shows nothing is needed. However, "OK" is greyed out, and the cost for the repair shows to be 0 credits.

It's possible they may be out of something, and the bug is that it isn't showing up in the list. *shrug*

So, as of now, there's no way to repair a damaged hull...at least not in Devries. Hell, even the save game editor won't repair the hulls. One of the ships is my original Rahanas (the hybrid Container/Energy one you are given in the beginning of the campaign). The other is a Container Rahanas I cap'd in Sinister Poem. The save game editor at least repairs their engines :P

To repair a broken savegame due to 1.19 with Hull Engineer <= 0.6, after you disabled the extension, open the savegame, search for lines with

in it
and make it look like this (to play with 1.19 vanilla)

Do not alter the id attribute.
It should restart the vanilla engineer AI.

Oh, and yes, backup your savegame prior to altering it ;-)

Ah if your getting the shipyard showing the repair cost as 0Cr and in green then thats a bug, I have 3 damaged titurels, 2 will cost large sums of money to repair, the third is as you describe.

version .61 of HE is out to fix compatibility. Not sure exactly what with the rewrite broke it, there are a few options. Calls to return to labels that no longer exist is probably the main reason.

I got the Engineers assigned to the cap'd ships repairing the hulls, finally. I had to remove all the extensions, not just Hull Engineer .60. Then, I went into the Savegame editing mod and told it to remove all mod relations. Once I was back to the vanilla game, my engineers no longer showed "None" under orders, but "Repair". They then repaired the Engines to 100% and the hulls to 75% (as long as there were Construction URV's on board).

I was running MCE, NoMoreGrandmas, and the one that zooms in on the monitor between Ren and Yisha when it comes up angled and hard to read. No idea what went on. I really tried to run the game vanilla in 1.19, but that bug where all your squad keeps following you even after you remove them just SUCKS. I had to install MCE to get them to stay put.

Now I'm struggling with building the station. Time for another thread :P
