Yes, option to remove Cockpit is great! I like that now i can see much more of space scene. Also framerate is increased by 2 FPS on my RIG. good job, but...

But I think you should make cockpit appear again when player hits MENU 5. Because then ship will be in less bugged view when player walks to see a crew. I know, I know, cockpit is just a feature for advanced users but for me it is a "normal" part of a game.

So... EGO Would you be so nice again and make algorithm like that : when user selects MENU 5 cockpit appears again (if disabled), when user gets on ship then cockpit disables again (if enabled). And do the same with ship Computer and Yishas dialogs in Campaign mode. It will be more correct. :)

Of course it would be nice to add second cockpit mode to display hull, weapons, speed and small computer. when user pushes "cockpit hide button" again (repeating pushing changes modes).

And there I made also a Pool for users to vote for cockpit improvement/fixing!

But at the end - yes now the game is more enjoyable. Thanks EGO! ;)

Anyway my biggest gripe with the cocklpit

FoV to 60, which limits your visibility as a start.
Removed/didn't implement PoV. Having cockpit implies you have a head and eyes you can turn. Otherwise you feel like a fully paralyzed guy in a space flying wheelchair. If you want to see something, you gotta turn the whole thing
The side panel animation.
- the angle in which some menus appear
- the fact that if you want to change the panel, you turn left whan you go back, and right again, when you select next menu.
The view is quite obstructed by the instruments (so now adjustable chairs in the 30th century?)

first make the hud adjust to full view, i.e. target icons moving all the way to the screen edges.

The first is what they done for now. And it is to fully hide cockpit.

They just forgot about visiting crew, docking to stations, viewing computer and Yishas plot talk animations that changes view of the cocpit. And when these animations happen then floor and other ship things are still invisible.

So this should be (let's call it not fixed but) improved! So players still be able to see beautifull EGOSOFT made cockpit view animations and hidden cockpit that is necessary for players in combat and just for a better space scene viewing.

If they can make another one more mode also for HUD then it will be just awesome! And my suggestion is to make it just - on "hide_cockpit_key" keypress repeating - change modes : 1) default view, 2) hide cockpit but still show HUD (in that way you said), 3) view nothing.

if the video performance issues for people (i have not had any) could be cleared up, i would like to see TrackIR or side view functionality put in. i would like to be able to look in more directions than strictly straight ahead. however, failing that, it seems good as it is for me.
