Is the construction ship capable of trading?

Well, I've been sitting in the skunk for about 30 minutes to see if the sale completes but nothing. After I gave the order to the Construction ship so sell some weres it goes to the selling port and after saying that he's ready for upload, nothing happens.

I would have thought that if it was capable of buying stuff it would be able to sell it. Was I wrong? Am I stuck with the cargo full if stuff with no way of selling it?

i have tried using it but it seems to just sit there i think it may be to do with no Cargo lift Drones i use Rahanas and it works

If both the ship involved and the station have no cargo drones then a large ship can not trade there, only the little ships that haul maybe 12k or so, they dock directly like the Skunk and need no drones. A Rehanas is usually ordered with drones so it would work too, if there any on board.

You can trade or mine with a construction ship just fine provided you have the drones.

Thanks Baconnaise, I just figured it out. So I bought some cargolifter drones (only had construction drones). Then I reissued the selling order (after clearing old orders just in case) but still nothing. It get to position and says "Ready to upload", stays there for about 5 secs and then starts moving away. He does a loop and come back and repeat same sequence.

Any ideas?

So it might be that the station stock is full so we need to make some space buying some stuff from it. I will try that.

On paper a Construction Ship should be able to trade just fine, in practise, mine always break - that's with drones equipped.

If it could trade well, it'd be the only ship you'd ever want to purchase for such things as it's CHEAP and can carry ANYTHING. I suspect the intent is that it's totally unable to trade, other than buy Fuel Cells for its self.

Yes, it can trade, no it doesn't need drones.

Without the drones however, it will take a LOOONG time, something like 10 minutes or more for it to do the transactions.

It can also help to completely leave the sector and go do something else for a while.

I used mine to buy and sell the 300 food required for the campaign.

As I said in another thread, I bought a Rahanas to see if the problem was the ship, and no, same problem.

There's some evolution though. Now the captain said that "It's impossible to complete the transaction at this moment, what else do you want me to do? "

Have you seen this?
