Boarded a ship, game acts like I didn't. My free will broke the game. Suggestions?

Boarded a ship, game acts like I didn't. My free will broke the game. Suggestions?

So I was playing the campaign. Went thru the gate/portal for the first time. On my way to . . . whatever first station over there via hiway, I saw a red reticle pop up. hopped off the hiway . . . oh look, an unescorted Titurel, a Reiver cap ship.

Protip: These cap ships have a blind spot at the front and rear of the ship. I found this out.

So i killed the engines and jump drive, ran over to a station and bought marines, eng and a capn, and went to board the ship.

And then -- whatever her name is my co-pilot -- started the boarding tutorial. Ugh. clearly not expecting players to free roam.

Now, after I capped the ship
* when near the ship, the notice "Protect" pops up.
* engineer won't repair the ship, but he did repair the jump drive.
* ship will jump but won't fly or boost. engines are badly damaged, but not completely out. (it says 70m/s)
* ship yard or various engineers won't offer to repair.
* can't fire the on board engineer
* can't hire another eng to replace
* ship yard won't buy the ship.

So what I basically have is a jump drive floating out in space.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was related to the "capture the rahanas tutorial" initiating at the wrong time, and now I can't complete the campaign.

At this point, the only things i want to do:
* Use the Titurel.
* Play the game with the Titurel

If I can reset the campaign/tutorials and fix the ship by editing the save file, so be it.

If I can convert this save game from campaign to free play, so be it.

If I can dump this one and spawn another, already staffed and ready to go, I will just pretend that I didn't do that (kinda like I pretended that the very last last scene of Battlestar Galactica didn't happen), and play normally.

If someone has a suggestion about some other solution to achieve my goals here, so be it. I will listen.

PS to all you X-R pros: I don't care how crappity you think the titurel is, I had fun fighting the damb thing and I want my trophy.

if ship is in your property and have (70m/s) working engines,
if you put captain (and add to squad), then it will follow you.

there is different shipyards/hangars i think you will be able to repair it later.
for now it is better for you to put ship in guarded sector, probably canteran (with shipyard), and with engineer, captain, and defense officer. (after it get to right place exclude it from squad and check that captain have no follow you order(actually order None)).


engineer will repair engines and hull only to 75%, but that is enough to use ship.

seems like Titurel is very rare, so i don't think that selling him is good idea.
it is universal trader ship(with good weapons), and when devs fixed all trade-stucking it can be very useful.



P.S. if you hired bad engineer it will take much time to do engine repair (in 1.19).
but as jump drive working you could get ship to safety.
P.S.2. if you have hanged capture mission, than it better to reload just before capture.
but may be it is independed mission from plot, so plot could continues normally.
P.S.3. to get more help you need to post savegame.

It looks like when you jumped out of sector your construction drones didn't come back to ships.... That's why parts are not fixing....It's a bug.
It's not world hunger because we can't feed poor,it's because there will never be enough to feed the rich .....
