targeting cargo for pickup also doesnt work

I got attacked while trying to figure out how to get cargo off a disabled ship with another TM class vessel, its supposed to work with drones but isn't. I destroyed a Warden Carrier and got more stuff this time floating in space. I went to 'cargo gathering mode' and moved in and targeted the first one, shield projectors..so I hit 'tag' and the icon went away and I went on to the next one. Now with maybe 6 cargoes there all supposedly 'tagged' if that was the correct way to do it ( no tut for this either) but the TM sitting 1 km away with 74 cargo drones on board...does not launch a single one...and after letting it sit there for a while to 'contemplate your mistake'...it still didn't do a thing.

Either targeting and hitting 'tag' doesn't help or its broke, either way would need to know how its supposed to work, there's lots of money out there floating.

TM...there aren't any in game, if you mean a Freighter of some description it'll need surface miner drones to pick it up (intuitive am i rite?)

OK then the naming mod calls it a TM class...its a Rehanas, and it has 74 cargo drones on board and a few construction drones, but this isnt ore so it should be considered cargo containers. Shields, lasers and missile launchers floating shouldn't need surface miners only cargo pickup drones.

Shouldn't but does, only drones with the grabby hands and scripts for retrieving stuff, sorry bud

so...does it need to be a miner then or any ship with them on it? Also we can order ships t dock for buying things from drone dealers..so it would need to go to a shipyard to get them? Unbelievable.

Any ship can equip URVs, it has to be at a shipyard (that has them and can work on said ship) though.

Since about half the ships I board wind up with no engines or jump drive, I've decided to invest in a special salvage ship. I ordered a new construction ship with cargo drones and some surface miner drones and will use it for my gathering vessel. It cost about 12 mil but I think it'll pay for itself eventually, since much of what I see left behind is salvage material I can sell for big bucks.
