1.18 Vanilla - Market orders not updating

I just tried repeating this several times. I parked right next to the shipyard in Darned Hot Air and Interceptor Mk1 drones had a buy order up for 97. Yet when I had my freighter buy 80 of them and then sell them, the station would only allow an offload amount of 17. Its only after getting that far and then backing out of the menu that the market order updated to the right quantity. I even tried doing it immediately after the save and also waiting and its the same result.

The trading computer blows hard. It makes an already very finicky trading system incredibly hard to manage. Flying around to update the computer, even with trading software, just plain doesn't work. Even if you buy the upgrade to maintain the market data, the data is stale as the order prices and quantities change.

Are we really expected to spend every moment we play flying around every station constantly in order to maintain market data properly? That's totally contrary to the idea of being able to fly around and do other things while your ships trade. And currently no capital freighter will complete a trade if I'm in the sector or unless I'm boosting/on a highway. I get the feeling the game just doesn't want us trading.
