anyone know where or how to limit fps to 60?

whenever i turn off vsync in the menu, i hear my videocard rattling to death. probably getting 1000fps in the main menu or something.

Hehe, this was a pretty obscure issue in Dawn of War. The army painter was such a visually basic scene that video cards could run it without idle cycles. GPUs already running on the overclocking brink would overheat as a result.

There isn't any scene like that in Rebirth, but frame limiters are are good idea regardless. You can achieve similar results by turning vsync on.

I always set adaptive VSync on in the NVidia control panel.

This switches VSync on when FPS are above the monitor refresh rate, and toggles it back off when fps go below refresh rate.

I assume ATI cards have a similar setting hidden somewhere.

the problem with ysnyc is that it is absolutely terrible, causing lag and weird sluggishness. i can easily get the sensation of 5-10fps more with vynsc turned off. yet without it, the game makes my video card buzz like it's rendering itself to death.
