[Request][Question] Moar Ships

Are any of you modders already hard at work making your own ships for this game he selection we were given was pretty poor

I have quite a few from x3 terran, but need to wrap my head around how to implement them into this game matrix. especially the landing cutscenes and visuals on cap ships and platforms...unless the skunk is visable but when you launch its just the other ship you fly? im working on it though.

There isn't much we can do about new models until we can access the mesh file format being used.

One thing that can be done, (and which probably some modders are working on), is we can reconfigure the Skunk using available meshes to look different than it now does, and of course we can re-texture things to our hearts content.

The first question is how we add ships into the game, I've not had much luck so far using existing content as a template.

I think a lot of folks can agree, it would be great to see modifications visually for each upgrade purchased; for instance, base versions for each of the types of engines with modifications for each Mark. Hull modifications to include plating for each shield version and mark. Given that the hulls HP goes up with each mark up this would make sense, plating styles similar to the Xenon Branch 9 Destroyer (Textures with lighter tint to accentuate the Skunk) would look great.
