We have to fly to every module dock, fly close enough to add it to our databse, then we'd have access to trading with that one module, and it has to be done for every module and every good you need to trade, and the trade can expire so you'll need to do it again. and again. and cant be done remotely. The economy used to be based on supply and demand, now its based on how much % of the station you have explored.
In the demos and previews of the game this is how I thought stations worked.
1. Station was treated as one piece, you could add modules to the station which improved its output (at any time) after construction or during.
2. Station had 1 hanger for the players and NPCs, and various hangers for bulk trading.
3. The player could access all wares and trades from that 1 hanger/dock/bar
4. Various discounts could be gained from looking at modules in space.
5. Player could call and bulk trade with station and see all bulk wares without needing to dock.
Is there any way to make this work.

i would love a way to filter by station in the trading window, it would make it so much easier to see what precisely is the supply and demand in a specific station.
for the rest, well, the trading software make it a lot easier to gather trade information (the whole station is done as soon as your close).
Its true that you need to pass by the station to update it, but its not exactly frequent.
the 1 hangar thing could probably be done with mods by disabling the other hangars and slapping more npc in the one, but well, i dont find it to be much of a bother personally

There was trading software and trading system extension in the previous X games, but I have not seen or heard of it in XR.
"No thats too god damned convenient, I want to drive and drive and look for water, like my ancestors did"
In X3 most stations that outfit your ships sold that stuff, and it was listed, and easily availible. Now im just bashing my head against a wall. trying to find even any mention of it.
Well I saw it only once, at the station you visit at the very beginning of the game but I wouldnt have any clue where that is, or where I am. the maps are useless.

Trading Software in Rebirth lets you see all the wares a station is buying or sells without having to scan the whole thing (just by flying up to it). Scanning in detail is still required to unlock discounts.
You get it from an NPC mechanic, I think? The same guy who sells weapon or engine upgrades.
Not exactly anywhere close to the functionality it'd be nice to have.... but it's a thing, at least....
I agree with all of the OP.
