OK,maybe that was a little murky, so hows this...make a patch that removes a lot of the junk we see but know is not there. The 'ghost patrol' of millions of npc 'cars' that run in single file from gate to gate. That all has to be run you know both through the computer and then our 3d cards. I'd rather see less and see great looking graphics when we do see something. A ship or two every few seconds would be enough. I know Ego bragged about thousand of ships we'd see but to me if I cant use it/fly it then its not necessary. Think of the amount of detail we could free up in no time this way. Same goes for the asteroid fields, they could be cut in half. We only mine the ones close to use and never or hardly ever go all the way out to see whats in the distance. So wipe out half of them right off the bat, then the ones we do see and mine will look 10x better.

The old expression is 'you cant have everything' but Ego tried their best to throw everything into this game and messed up most of the details we loved. So lets start fixing the problems like the crashes that might actually be a lot less often if they weren't making 2 thousand cars and rocks we dont need to make the universe look junky. :wink:

There are already mods out for reducing or eliminating mass traffic as well as eliminating fake traffic from highways if you look around a bit.

yes, ty just got the mass traffic mod, now if we can get rid of a lot of those asteroids we see all around us then our machines can rest and make great detailed ships and stations. Ego added a lot of load on machines with the huge stations and their many details, so all this fluff isn't needed to make the scenes look good. Besides with our graphics set at 50 for distance...how could we possibly see that many rocks in 50 miles?

Might want to be careful on the station mass traffic -- I noticed there's a script call that suggests that mass traffic can be used for transportation of cargo to ship builders.

Haven't pursued the script -- not in my current scope, but thought I'd point it out.

Reducing traffic by half doesn't stop resupply, because the little cars that we see aren't cargo carriers, thats the TS class light freighters, they carry a lot of station related items, been watching them for a while and capped 2 one bulk and one for energy cells. :wink:
