Have you destroyed the engines?

Yeah i tried everything.. i reload 4 or 5 times. I've tried literally spamming both engines nonstop with my repeater to make sure it never gains even 1 m/s velocity, the ship was literally stationary for at least 5 minutes. Then I've tried go boost real fast right after killing the engines so they can drop from the top front of the freighter, same thing, and i tried to do it from below around the center as well, because sometimes they stick to the insides of the plating and stuff. Its as if the ship had an invisible bubble around it, whichever angle i drop them from they just cant get it. This one ship just refuses to get boarded. Not having any problems with other ships before or after this one o_o Unfortunately this was the only one that had a good variety of the turrets i need.

I do know workaround if you need ship for sale, but that's not your case (you can kill drone hangar, engines, turrets and leave zone - after that all marines land on board and take the ship)
in your case I think you should reload and drop marines other way.
each pod it pushes ship from itself, so it is enough to make sure that pods all around ship (which too requires turrets to be killed, or you lose some of your troops).
P.S. there was reports that in 1.17 engineers broken again. (they worked from 1.14 to 1.16).

I think sometimes the pods try to attach to a certain point of the ship but end up getting stuck on the ship's geometry along the way. I don't think it has to do with the ship's speed necessarily. Especially if I release a large number of marines, some will inevitably get stuck. Bumping the pods almost always works for me.

I did see how ship moves without engines because of pods (from them).spacecoyote99 wrote:I think sometimes the pods try to attach to a certain point of the ship but end up getting stuck on the ship's geometry along the way. anyway if you fly around ship while dropping pods (you need begin to fly immediately after board+(jumpdrive+engines killed)) they have more surface to land and rarely will collide with each other.

i ended up waiting 20 minutes and eventually my marines reached the ship.. for some reason even though it had no engines, and i did not notice this, the ship was tipped on its back and somehow falling downwards (upwards for the ship, because its top was facing the opposite direction) into nothing, so it was moving.. its as if there was a gravitational pull nearby, but there is no such thing
