unresponsive after 15 minutes of gameplay, after the first station dock/undock

x rebirth became unresponsive after 15 minutes of gameplay.

After the first station dock/undock I'm left staring at an NPC with a vacant look on her face.

Having spent £40 and being a fan of the x series since 2003, I'm just disappointed.

Are you able to provide any more information to help us identify the problem? Is it repeatable? Do you have a savegame that you could upload along with a set of steps to get to the point where it does this for you?

Sounds like a memory leak to me...

It is reproducible, it's in the first few minutes of gameplay.

I docked, found the upgrade in the storage locker, undocked, switched my weapon to the mining laser, destroyed an asteriod and the npc says 'I'd hate to be a bother you, could you take me to them, it's not far from here...'

At this point you're left staring at the NPC, you can't open any menus/adjust any settings or interact in any way.
