For me, need original release, no patches
I was one of the lucky ones, I didn't have a single crash with original release, and the game ran as smooth as butter, no slow downs, no hiccups no stutters, and I had every single setting as high as it would go, I mean it was perfect.
Then 1.15, and I started getting stutter and huge slow downs. Now with 1.16 it's even worse and now I crash on top of the slow down.
A appreciate what you're trying to do with patches, but this is going in the wrong direction for me.
Is there anyway possible you could let us download the original release and turn off auto updates in steam until you guys get a handle on this....
anyway, I love the game. Hope things get turned around technical wise.

I believe you can delete the 7.dat and its cat file to achieve that effect as far as content is concerned, as when the game originally came out it wasn't there, as for the binary... even sharing that would be considered copyright theft so I doubt it can be done without a trip to shady places on the internet.

Same here, after 1.15 stutter and huge slow downs where there was none and now after 1.16 I have had more crashes than I have had in nearly 50 pre 1.16 hours of game play.noquarter wrote:Then 1.15, and I started getting stutter and huge slow downs. so the boys in egosoft made the game worse with every patch for me
anyway my tiket for refund is on its way just hope it gets trough
and i will restart albion prelude

As we have paid good money to become Beta testers of a game that should never have been released in its current configuration, it would be nice to get access to earlier versions. After 1.15 turned out to be a huge step backwards for me, I started making Backup copies of the .exe, so that I could do my own manual roll-backs. 1.16 is a total disaster, but I have 1.15 to go back to. Only sorry that I didn't think of doing backups earlier as 1.14 was great for me.
I have been waiting so long for a new space sim (read non MMO) and the X series have always been such a wonderful space sim with amazing depth. The initial sales figures show, that I wasn't the only one, so the Devs and publisher should truly hang their heads in disgrace for this debacle, they had opportunity to fill a need in the gaming community and could have generated spectacular sales figures in doing so.
I’m now at the point where, I want my money back, and won’t ever be buying anything from these clowns again where I don’t see the most spectacular & amazing reviews from gamers. All trust has now been destroyed.

Dang, forgot I had a previous copy.
Luckily, the game had not feeling as smooth when we got 1.13. And I copied(backup) the xrebirth folder to move to my ssd drive.
So disabled steam updates and copy pasted that backup copy, it's 1.13, it's got a little lag, but very very little compared to the later updates, 1.16 has unplayable lag for me, and the crashes are pretty bad, no idea what they did....
soo, woohooo, i'm playing again

Found a way to get some frame rate back, thankfully I had a spare twin GPU Asus ATI 5970 sitting in my other computer. Pulled it out of there and added to the 5970 in my game rig, set up crossfire and 4 GPUs finally give me back some playability. Yeeeeeeh just get four GPUs and your sorta kinda almost in business.

1.17 and the "unnamed" hotfix seems to have sorted out the crashing. Something I forgot to do when I last re-installed Win 7 was to make sure I unparked the cores on my CPU, doing this and setting V-Sync to Adaptive (Half Refresh Rate) in the Nvidia control panel has smoothed things out a lot with regards to stutter.

Hmmm... setting my GTX 690 to only use one GPU instead of both increased my frame-rate by 30Nebulaewolf wrote:Found a way to get some frame rate back, thankfully I had a spare twin GPU Asus ATI 5970 sitting in my other computer. If you are lucky than your Windows might have created a backup in the background when it was idle long enough at the right time (Very unlikely but worth a try). Right-Click the EXE file, choose Properties and then look into the "Previous versions" tab.noquarter wrote:Is there anyway possible you could let us download the original release and turn off auto updates in steam until you guys get a handle on this....

Then go do something else. If they hadn't released the game because of bugs, you wouldn't playing it either.sonnyVN wrote:are u serious cant even play for 4 days nowAlan Phipps wrote:Someone asked if Steam could roll back versions and CBJ replied not. crushes are not main problem,AnarkistUK wrote:AnarkistUK wrote:Same here, after 1.15 stutter and huge slow downs where there was none and now after 1.16 I have had more crashes than I have had in nearly 50 pre 1.16 hours of game play.noquarter wrote:Then 1.15, and I started getting stutter and huge slow downs. (especially taking into account that there was none for me in 1.15, having gtx470, fully playable, only in 1.17 fps problems in highway)
main problem is game eco, it is key feature, and it was broken in 1.16, and its status does not changed in 1.17.
so YES IT IS UNPLAYABLE FOR 4 DAYS.

So? Don't you have anything else to do? If they hadn't released the game because of bugs, you wouldn't playing it either.dmk wrote:YES IT IS UNPLAYABLE FOR 4 DAYS.

1.15 was playable.pirke123 wrote:So? Don't you have anything else to do? If they hadn't released the game because of bugs, you wouldn't playing it either.dmk wrote:YES IT IS UNPLAYABLE FOR 4 DAYS.
that's not about what I can do else.
that's was about fact, that update change playable game to unplayable,
and when they was asked to return back, they just assured that they fix bugs, and closed topic.
