Just got X Rebirth and tried installation and installation failed. Error message said I needed 4 gigabyte tuning. I have 32 bit Win 7 (see below.) My question is; is it possible for this machine to run 4 Gigabyte tuning safely as currently configured? If so, how do I set that up? I can provide more info about the system if required.

System Requirements
Note: 32-bit versions of Windows are not supported due to memory requirements.
Minimum
The minimum requirements indicate the basic environment required to run the game. If any of these requirements are not met then the game may not run at all.
The recommended requirements indicate an environment that should provide an enjoyable gaming experience under normal circumstances. Please note that due to the nature of the game, it is not possible to guarantee a minimum framerate, nor is it possible to guarantee that there will be no in-game circumstances in which the framerate will be slowed.

It's safe to configure your PC as described by Microsoft, but you should bear in mind that there is no guarantee that the game will run if you do. The system requirements state 64-bit Windows and while some people have reported being able to run it under 32-bit Windows with this setting, this is unsupported and we cannot promise it will continue to work in that environment even if it does now.

Re: 4 GB tuning on 32 bit Win 7
To help explain why 64bit win is desired. 32 bit windows can only address 3.75gig of memory total. This includes your GPU and system Memory. So seeing you have 4 gig of system and an unspecified amount of GPU memory, you would more then likely be loosing out...at least .25gig od system is not being used more if your GPU has it's own memory.Atago5 wrote:Just got X Rebirth and tried installation and installation failed. Using a 64 bit system removes that limitation and allows more memory to be addressed with in the system. NOW there is a bright spot, if you have the original Windows Install disk, or can get one, you can use the same license key you have to reinstall Win7 64bit even if it is an OEM copy, it will still be valid.
The catch...more then likely you will need a clean install. But there may be a way to preserve most of your data is you go hunting and research the problem some. I believe you can make a full backup of your files onto an external device, run the clean install, then restore your files with minimal headache.
