Construction ship - Trading with nil

Anyone knows how to fix this? My construction ship wanders off and is 'trading with nil'. My freighter is also doing the same when I assign it to the manager in the station.

The construction ships become bugged after building a station, They disappear from all property lists and go around making random trades, I think after it builds a station it become the managers property and he sends it off trading. Which is what the "Trading with Nil" means (not 100% positive though). I've had trader have this while under manager control and they go around buying and selling goods. I think you have to give the manager a budget before they actually buy anything.

Thanks for that. Didn't know I can add budget via DE. Kept talking to manager to find it.

I managed to get my freighter under the manager to move again however construction vessel is stuck.

I had assigned the freighter to the manager due to another bug to see if it will repair its hull (The shipyard just eats my money)

Supposedly it is caused by assigning a manager before the station is completed fully completed.

Ah right, somehow missed that point. I have reloaded into a older save file just before I assigned a manager. Thanks. Btw with patch 1.14, can ships owned repair themselves with an engineer on board?

Is it possible to remove the ship from the manager's control somehow to fix the problem without going back to an old save? Like firing the manager or editing the file to move the ship to player control?

If you go into your station information, then manager information, then ship owned or control? not sure there, you will see your ship there, simply call it with the CO button and then ask him to join your squad, **** i miss the R hotkey from X3.... There i could manage ANY ship without going trough hoops and windows, and button, and clicking and... you get the point... Make managing easier they say? ....

What the heck did they smoke?

"Trading with nil" means, that the ship wants to commence a trade, but the manager doesn't have enough cash.

Now... this I only found out yesterday. Go to the station details, select managers and highlight your station manager. The 4-option should be available now. Click it. Be amazed o.O
There are so many detailed settings available for so many parts of the game. Check the defense officer for instance.

My construction ship would trade with various stations to gather needed resources. When my station was saturated the message changed back to trading with nil. Ship idled until it was needed again.

No it doesn't my manager had 600 million and still it said trading with nil

they were slowly trading but taking hours

how the hell do you assign a manager to the station before its completed? You cant even dock on an unfinished station build request o_o

You build the first section, place manager, extend the station and assign trader to the manager = bugged or seem to, we DONT HAVE ANY KIND OF FEEDBACK whatsoever.... give me my 12 menu, hundreds of command, my 7 different kind of overview i had in X3 dammit..... i knew what was going on at least then..

oh....you mean completely finishing all modules of the station.. i dunno, i havent had any problems with the first module.. i assigned some rahanas to the manager and they go around glaring truth buying stuff for it, imagine later they will sell too. Oh and my construction vessel also buys and sells, and like any other ships you assign to the station, it disappear from the Owned Property menu, but this one seems glitched because it also doesnt show up in the manager's "Ships Controlled" section. It shows "controlling 4 ships" but only 3 are listed..

I'm pretty sure the trading with nil has nothing to do with money and is to do with them being sent off to trade with a station you dont have knowledge of. If you go to the station it'll then say the correct name in the "trading with" notification.

I also believe the construction ships aren't meant to be able to fly around after building but the plot one gets bugged or something?

From the description it states the construction ship should be consumed in the process of building the station so I think it's meant to stay at the station site until every part of that station is complete and then possibly be removed from the game but that last part is just speculation going off the in game description of the ship.
