My Game Does Not Work At All!!!! Help Me! --SOLVED--

I keep this post for other to use. The problem was coming from my graphic card driver which was too old. I updated it and everything seems to work.

Hi;

I'll try not to be insulting but I got to say I am seriously upset. I paid for a boxed game, to be more precise, the collector edition.
I put the DVD in the drive and install. I'll skip the 4.7 Gb of necessary download to go to the essential point (what is the point of the boxed game then):
I CANNOT EVEN RUN THE GAME. the screen goes black and..... nothing!! Just a small message box to tell me that a dump file has been created due to a critical error.
I have followed all the recovery instruction I could find on Steam: updated the Dxdiag and vcredist, I checked the game cache. Still nothing happens!

Since this is the only place I can apparently get help, I hope I will get a quick answer. I feel that the 59.99 euros I paid for this game is a poor investment. Please proove me wrong!

PS: I managed to open and read the resume of the last dump file created and here is its traduction from french to english:
"Info on exception: the thread tried to read from a virtual address or to write on a virtual address for which there was no proper access."

when you go to properties on steam, how much local space is the game taking up?

better question, on steam, go to your library, right click on x-rebirth, choose properties, local files, and select "verify integrity of game cache"

its very possible the Download of the remaining files did not work.

if not, it may be worth uninstalling and then re-installing, and running the steps i mentioned above again.

Thanx guys for your quick answer. I really appreciate. Unfortunetely I have already performed the verification of the integrity of game cache. Several times as it is, and it did not improve my problem a bit.

I'll update the driver tonight. I hope it will solve the problem. I'll keep this post updated with the effects of the driver update on the game performance. If it is the source of the problem I'll edit the original post with a big "Problem solved" and how it was solved message.
