menu navigation with joystick?

Post by White Rat »

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there was any OTHER way to navigate the menu than with a mouse or a gamepad?

I've just started the campaign and am attempting to dock for the first time, when I pull up the hud menu at the landing pad it says "Dock" and below that "LS to choose". It's this, LS to choose, that's got me stumped.

I mean what is it? Left Shift? - that doesn't work

Left Stick? - don't use a gamepad

Does it even say LS? - the font is microscopic at a resolution of 2560 X 1600!

Seriously guys; what is the point of having a HOTAS setup if you've got to take your hand off the stick to double click a mouse??

Go to Settings, Controls, Joystick/controllers, Menu, Misk and Scroll...
Yes this is supposed to be left stick, this game turn all around the gamepad concept...

Put in Scroll Vertical/Horizontal the axis you want to use and it will be done, you will be able to control menu with an axis...

But not even arrow key work for navigate menu (this is stupid)...
Apparently Egosoft work on this and will "unconsolizing" the game !
Call of Rebirth...Don't worry a big patch is comming, its called Star Citizen.

I don't want to be human !
Last hope for X Rebirth is that Egosoft stop to be arrogant and stupid and give access to Source Code for public.

You can do it, but its kind of weird.

Basically you set a HOTAS button to the Interaction Menu command, and then with the menu open keep the interaction button depressed so your stick then functions like the gamepad and you can scroll through options 1-6 by pointing your stick in that direction. Then with the option selected release the interaction button and you then activate that option.

You are basically conning the game into thinking your HOTAS is a gamepad.

Hey guys;

Big shout out for you both. Never would've figured either of those solutions - going to try them both out.

And your right about Star Citizen too, the release of X Rebirth has made want a few more pledge ships in my hangar.

But once again, I thank you both for your advice. :D
