x Rebirth - steam version, joystick and mouse don't work

Hi All,
I bought x rebirth when it came out on steam, I'm having problem with both mouse and my joystick in this game. Something that I didn't have have in previous X games. My joystick is Saitek Cyborg Evo and the joystick works just fine currently in all my other games like Rise of Flight, IL2 flight sim etc. Same as my mouse (logitech). For some reason I can't use my mouse smoothly to look around in my ship. Also the cursor is not all the time visible, every half a second or so it appears then it disappears. My joystick, yaw and pitch don't work...so I can't use it to fly the ship. It's not possible to fly the ship with the keyboard. At beginning of the game when I encounter 2 drones...I get killed easily.

Anything I can do to help my get my mouse and joystick working properly in this game on my own ?

Well, i'm not a developer but i think the game has problems with Joysticks that emulates in some way the behavior of a mouse, i really don't know if your Joystick is one of those though.

Try disconnecting the Joystick (since Egosoft doesn't like Joysticks anymore), and play with keyboard and mouse to see if it works (or buy a gamepad).

Also you can wait until the next patch wich seems to be out for next month.

This existing thread is all about joysticks...different makes/models, their configuration, workarounds and support (or rather the lack thereof).

Thanks for your feedback guys, I will take a look at the joystick thread...hopefully it will all be fixed in the coming patch.

UPDATE:

Looks like when I unplug my joystick, my mouse is working perfectly...
