I truly enjoy the gameplay, great job on it, I do have this slight X feeling in it. It just needs a bit of extra polishing and then it would be great!
1)
I'm using a Laptop that has 2 different type of GPUs.
I was amazed by the fact that X Rebirth detected only my onboard Intel GPU, which is total crap but I keep it on in the Device Management because it comes in very handy to preserve a huge amount of battery-life when mobile.
So the fact is even if I change it in the nVidia control panel to use the GTX, the game still only shows the Intel but when I start the game I clearly see the light, indicating that the GTX is active, has turned on. My question is why does the game still mentions the Intel, isn't there support for the GTX 680M? Or isn't there support for Hybrid systems that uses nVidia Optimus technology? You can set system to use the GTX for an application inside the nVidia Control Panel.
Laptop Spec:
GPU: GTX 680M (4Gb Dedicated) and Intel 4000 (Both latest drivers)
CPU: Intel i7-3630QM @2.40Ghz, Turbo-mode: 3.40Ghz (Always on during games)
RAM: 8.00Gb
OP: Windows 8.1
2)
Controls. I'm using a Xbox 360 controller. Propulsing around space is okey ish, but some controls will have to be adjusted. For example in space and on the station. On the station, your look sensitivity is way above the Skunk control ability. The settings that definies the sensitivy, I think you might need to either split it or define if they are only for the station or also for the skunk.
Stick! Menu's are only controlable with the directional (D-pad) pad, make it stick controlled as wel, like any other game does, it is a lot more enjoyable.
3)
Personal: This probably will take a lot more time to do but. Make people move around the skunk entirely. With this I mean, Instead of the button at the door, use the chair. Let people walk around the cockpit, it is a small detail, but might be useful for for example moving a certain menu towards a rear panel in the cockpit room. For now everything is controlled from the cockpit seat which is a must, for quick interaction, I agree, but having a free cockpit will allow you to have different menus extra outside of the cockpit command screen. For example a tactical screen, where you can position your ship like an RTS (but really basic, like Move to, Attack, Trade) with the view of galaxy-map, sector-map. It is just a quicker
4)
Make a skipable landing animation, and put a menu in the settings: "Skip Landing Animation" for people who would don't want it.
5)
I manage to stuck/bug the button to enter the cockpit forcing me from now on to always use the Menu to re-enter the cockpit after I visit my crew when in space.
6)
I manage to stuck the chair animation. The chair remained static and I had the sit animation clipping all through the chair. And when asking the command screen. I had a 100% transparent command screen. I could hear the menu sound but couldn't see anything.
Update 1:
Little update:
Nvidia GeForce Experience popped up a note about a new Driver version: 331.82 If I read correctly it seems to be partially focusing on mobile GPUs, and improve the hybrid utility. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
I have to say I do have a change in performance at the moment.
I have been playing with barely any stuttering, just some minor ones.
Though the game still only detects the onboard one ingame.
But for now the game is a lot more playable with the 331.82 driver.
