Not recognising my graphics card
It's running the game on the intel HD 4600 that you get with a haswell processor and not showing my nvidia. It's pretty unplayable. Do I wait for a patch or can I fix somehow?
ps. If this post gets duped it's because of the crashing due to server load

I have the same problem as Levi@th@n. No matter what I seem to do as far as the Nvidia options, when I go into the game the only thing displayed under the graphics menu is the Intel HD Graphics 4600.
I get horrible framerate as soon as anything more than blank sky shows up in my screen. No way it's playable like this.
In case it matters, I have an Nvidia Geforce GT 750M.
Thanks!

Are you guys setting up a profile for X Rebirth in the Nvidia control panel and then setting it to use the Nvidia chip instead of integrated?
Worked for me on my 720m (actually playing the game at 15 fps is another matter entirely of course), and I've had to do the same with separate game profiles for several other games. Mostly indie games though, as it seems the major releases figure out automatically to use the 720m instead of the Intel chip (I'm guessing a game needs to include a profile file or something for laptops to make that happen automatically?).

Yes, changed everything to my Nvidia, but it does not help. It looks like that Problem existed in earlier X Games too:

yep.
I went to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Global settings and set the preferred graphics processor to "High-Performance NVIDIA processor.
I also went to the program settings tab and also changed both the steam.exe and the xrebirth.exe to always use the NVIDIA card.
None of this really makes a difference that I can detect.
At this point I think I'll probably just leave the game alone for a week or two and wait for a patch or two.

Ok looks like its something to do with the M graphics range. I spent £350 yesterday on an EVGA 4GB GTX 770 Classified ACX on top of £115 ish for two copies of the game. Thankfully with that card in and my processor, i5 3570K @ 4.2 GHZ and 16 GB of RAM the PC is running X-Rebirth very nicely, apart from not being able to use my Joystick, I have had a couple of crashes earlier and found what appears to be missiong info, which im going to post in a seperate thread.

I just want to put here that I'm currently using the 314.07 Nvidia drivers, as with ant after 320 I've been getting freezing in web browsers. It hadn't affected games, but a lot of people on Nvidia's forums have been saying it does especially with the midrange cards, like the GTX 450, 460, 550 etc.

Changing settings in the NVidia menue help
Changing the setting for the binaries in the NVidia did the job.
What a difference!!
This also seems to have fixed the audio issues in the Egosoft clip, and the clip now runs smoothly.
One (important) issue less.

Could you please share the process? Too vague for not major tech-savvy players like myself to make use of.Ghulfield wrote:Changing the setting for the binaries in the NVidia did the job.

Disabling the intel graphics adapter causes it to run microsoft basic rendering #1 in settings at 1-2fps, not great at computers but it is clearly not using the nvidia adapter at least, so most likely not the card.
Actually it seems that the game uses the Nvidia Card, even when it showes it uses the onboard graphic.

Re: Changing settings in the NVidia menue help
I have exactly the same problem with me. Lenovo + Nvidia GTX660M. Is there any way to switch to NVidia card?
