Yesterday I got the following message while playing. It popped up a few times, whenever that particular battleship responded to a threat. And then my game froze permanently. I uninstalled all the scripts I had running and set my sector patrol ships to another task, and the game still freezes at the same point in time. I had 102 days, 22 hours on my save game, and now my game is over. There seems to be no way to get past that freeze point. My CPU shows 99% usage by X2 when it freezes which indicates a loop. The loop takes a while, so just because it hasn’t happened to you yet does not mean it won’t. I have been running the Patrol script for a long time now.
I wanted to post this at xscripting.com but they are down now. The guy that wrote the script posts in the forum there.
I may try a few other things to see if I can get past the freeze point, but nothing so far has worked. It also locks up my computer so badly I have to do a hard reboot which isn’t good for it. Quite a feat, crashing Windows XP.
I can’t play anymore without starting over. I had over 70 stations, 500 ships including three battleships, almost 60 corvettes, a carrier and a TL. Gone.

I am using 1.3, although I had this happen several times using 1.2. I finally resolved the issue after hours of screwing around. I had to shut down every ship using any script, not just the patrol script. Even MK3 trader had to be shut down to get past the bump in the road.
I would say in this case the evidence is pretty clear and that the patrol script is the culprit. But I got past it.

Yep I hit that problem in my last game (1.2).
Seemed to be related to using it on an M2 for some reason, with the optional energy feeder script. All my M6s using the script worked fine only had a problem once I tried it on my Ray.
I was planning to do a bit of debugging to see what was wrong but 1.3 came out and I re-started with a clean game
so maybe I'll look again when I get a bit further (I want to play past the plot before I use any 'unofficial' scripts).
Maybe SlugwormX will have fixed it by then!

This is what happens when a script is no longer installed in your folder.
Re-install that script and you should find it works fine,
If not, give us a shout

There is no doubt about that one, I took the MK3 script out when I removed all the others. So I fully expect it to work fine when I put it back.LV wrote:This is what happens when a script is no longer installed in your folder.
