Couple questions about the Galaxy Editor...

Post by _LordAnubis_ »

Ok I have a couple questions...

1. Does anyone know (or can anyone tell me) what the values are for adding suns and planets? For adding planets, one must input 4 values. I am assuming the first value is the planet subtype (the look of the planet) and the other 3 values are the coordinates inside the sector. My problem is, every time I try to add a planet to a sector, no matter what I try to input for the coordinates, I think it places it too close to the sector grid, which automatically destroys me. Also, for adding suns, there are many values, and would like to know if anyone knows what each value means. I have tried experimenting with different values for each with no success. I would appreciate any info on how to place a planet or sun far enough away from the center of the sector without automatically destroying myself.

2. Is it necessary for Argon Prime to be the starting sector? Because I am working on my own small galaxy that takes place toward the middle of the x-universe and Argon Prime and the sectors nearby are not in the construction plans.

3. Is there a way to line up stations with the grid? For example, if I rotate a station, it ends up not facing directly E/W/N/S (like a shipyard or trading station for example). Just wondering if there is a way to snap it to a direction or rotate things 90 degrees at a time.

If these have already been answered elsewhere, then please forgive me, but I have been unable to find the answers to these questions. Thanks in advanced :)

2: No
3: yeah, set a="x" to 0, 16384, 32768 or 49152, and b="0" g="0"

Awesome, thanks a ton.
I figured out my problem with the coordinates for the planets, I wasnt inputting numbers nearly high enough (doh!). Thanks again aalaardb :)
