Hello,
I have the X3AP dvd but it will not install. When I click on setup or setup-ap, a prompt appears requesting insertion of disk 1. Disk 1 is an audio cd (Albion Prelude with war pack). My Steam account is active, but I can't really see a way to get it to install the thing for me.
This happening across the board with Win7, XP and XP64.
Thanks,
Squidoutofguam

Thanks. I tried that. I put in the Aldrin Missions X3TC disk in and clicked on the prompt.
Nothing.
Anyway, the AP with TWP comes complete. neither Setup nor Setup AP will go beyond that prompt. Both AP 2 and TC 3.2 are on the DVD.
I even tried the first disk of the original 5CD set of X3TC.
I have even gone to reloading Windows 7 in thinking a clean installation of the OS might fix the problem. Alas, it has not. Maybe the .sid files are supposed to be loading as I suspect that's where everything is.

I took advice from a colleague:
X2-Illuminatus wrote:As you mentioned already he definitely has to install X3TC first.
One thing to check is whether he actually has X3TC registered in his Steam account. I think he should have two registration keys there: one for X3TC, the other for X3AP. I'm not really sure about this since I don't have either of the X3AP box versions.
Apart from that he could check whether the following Steam FAQ article is of any use:
