FPS loss with sector map open(AP)

I have a machine with a intel core i7 2820QM 2.30 gHz laptop, Windows 7 64, 16gb PC 1600 ram and a AMD 6600 M with 1024 mb ram and a 1tb SSD/HDD hybrid dtive on a fresh install of X3AP, steam and Windows 7, i have itunes and stuff installed and VLC, other then that toaly clean. I am running Catalyst 13.10.

Before my install i had a 750 gb hd, and 4 gigs of ram, x3ap ran pretty smooth. Now it runs mostly smooth except when i open the sector map, it goes to turtle speed, cant mouse around and the FPS drops to maybe 5.

I have a windows experience of 5.9, slowest is the hard drive. graphics are 6.9 ram is 7.8 and the cpu is 7.5

Any ideas?

A full [url=http://www.egosoft.com/support/faq/faq_answer_en.php?answer=610&version=8][b]DX[/b][b]D[/b]iag[/url] report will help us a lot more than a quick list of parts. My first guess, though, would be your AMD graphics drivers, which have had performance problems in menus in X3AP for a couple of versions.

hmm. i know i have the beta catalyst driver. Buti am pretty sure it is the same one i was using before.

anyway here is the test result.

Your driver Catalyst

Driver File Version: 8.17.0010.1242 (English)
Driver Version: 13.200.11.0

It is for an incompatibility with the graphics drivers. If you have the latest Catalyst will have the problem on the AP.
