Hi all, I own a copy of the X Superbox and I have registered it with Steam. I copied the install folder to the steamapps folder and then clicked install in Steam. According to the forums this should then have Steam check the folder (which it does) and install a small amount of remaining files for it to run on Steam. What happens after the file verification however is it deletes 99% of the files and then tries to download 6.5GB from Steam. As I have a very limited internet connection I would prefer this not to happen! Any suggestions?
Cheers
Smithy

Are you sure it's actually downloading that much, or is it in fact just saying it's got 6.5Gb to download and then just downloading what's changed? It's quite common for Steam to report that it's downloading everything and then for it to complete quite quickly when it realises most of it is already there.

I am afraid that a while ago now, Steam changed the format of all Steam gamefiles for added efficiency. Since that happened, Steam will indeed replace all files copied across from prior DVD versions thus negating the advantages of doing so. Sorry, but that is supposedly progress toward better Steam game performance.
