[X3TC] Controller Defaults? Workaround found.

Post by shabitz »

Is there a config file somewhere which tells what controller to load up upon start that can be modified?

I recently installed a Logitech G13 and now when the game launches it defaults to that even though I have the Cyborg X as preferred device in windows settings. I'm guessing there is a config somewhere which you can change the order of devices so the cyborg is again on top and it's selected by default? It's annoying because I use the plugin manager to launch the game and now it always defaults to the G13. I'd have to manually launch the game while remembering to change the joystick settings each time. This only started happening the other night when I changed graphic settings to medium for a short while.

If I read your question correctly, you are asking about how to set up your OS and not game settings. The only related in-game options are the control profiles that you can customise and select in-game in Options, Controls. The profiles are stored in a folder next to your save folder in Your Documents, Egosoft, X3TC. Perhaps your changes overwrote a profile you were using. Is that info of any use?

Plugin Manager is 3rd Party software and not Egosoft's. You would have to ask any questions about that in the S&M forum thread for that application.

I think I found the problem, atleast it seems to be working now. Any change on the settings seems to be defaulting the controller back. As long as after I make a change in shaders setting or whatever I need to go in and change the controller. After that it's now remembering it.

Glad to hear you have found a workaround.
