Bit of an update would be nice.

No news is not good news to the folks on the forum.

It dont take long to do a post to keep us happy, now does it.

Have to agree with you there Faze. Sod waiting for the newsletter to come out (which seems to be just before pigs learn to fly).

Before anyone replies that Steel posted about there being a rolling demo and a playable demo out soon and "surely that's an update isn't it?". This isn't what we're waiting for, what we'd all like to know is (roughly to within a month) when we could get our collective grubby mits around a copy of the final code of the game and go out there ready to kick some Khaak but (or more than likely get our own buts kicked by them :D )

I guess that's the rub. When I know more info about the release date, i'll let you know.

It's not just that but a general post on the status of the development of the game would be nice as well. Reports along the lines of "We're sorry to say that the general beta-test with the level 5 developers threw up some unexpected problems and it's taken us an extra fortnight to solve this" wouldn't go amiss with a lot of people here. There doesn't have to be anything too specific in the reports, just a general indication on how the latest build is holding up to general gameplay stresses and how close they feel they are to locking down the code so that the master CD can be created.

Yeah just a sniff to keep us all going! :D

We are kind of running out of things to talk about. The only topics left would probably get locked. :)

Well I thought I'd just bump this one to the top as its an issue which really needs more of an answer than Avatars attempt, which I thought was very condescending!.... 'thumbs down indeed'

I dont know what it is about about dates and the software industry... Jez if the same people were producing food we'd all die of starvation.. I've been in IT for 18 years and never come across a more secretive lot than gamers... secretive to the point of being bizarre really.....

Progress Report PLEASE....

I believe that if egosoft is quiet and silent it is caused by the fact that they are working hard. Data disclosure under such situations could be handled in yellow journalist ways.

If they haven’t said anything it is because there is nothing to say yet. I bet they are the most interested in making us know when things are ready.

May be, something that could be interesting would be to disclose a history with the experiences that XBTF and XT brought to the team. May be some funny events that happened, or may be even the vision and how could a concept turn into a reality. More or less like the book of the making of Final Fantasy but as a press release or like a thread.

Talking about a long gone past won’t harm, the only thing is that it takes time from someone to gather data and post…
