I own a Mac Book Pro Retina, and while playing X3 AP in Windows my FPS has always been lower than it should, around 30-45, for having a 650M and an i7 @ 2.7Ghz, considering I was playing at 1920X1200.
So last night I started trying to figure out what was causing the issue. As it turns out the bootcamp install for the MBPR defaults Windows to 150% Magnification to insure that you have a high enough DPI, the only issue is that unlike in Mac OSX Windows doens't really turn this off when it needs be...
After I set the magnification back down to 100% my framerate in normal play jumped up to 50-60 FPS in X3 AP.
While I have found a solution to my problem, I thought I should post this here as a record for anyone else who has bought one of these incredible annoying machines (don't buy one its been nothing but a pain in the butt), or anyone with eye problems who has the Magnification on normally.
